every time Im closing the preferences button the dock dissapears and I have to open the terminal and open it from there by the way I dont have a local folder like you had in the video, and it dosent open by default , there ware more important things to show than how to customize it, and I search the default apps , but it dosent seem to recognize that I have it installed

I just made myself a new Linux box in late 2023. I went Mint and changed to Cinnamon from Mate based on a GUI I saw in the forums. I also discovered conky and I am addicted. I run various versions of Minimalis on different workspaces and have one workspace adorned with conky-grapes. Nothing makes my Linux boxes feel more like "not-windows" than my conkys!
